We all have goals and things we are believing God for but 90 percent of our struggle is the waiting.....

He that begins a good work in you is able to perform it..... Phil 1:6
When God starts a thing, he has a plan to finish it.  Although we are living in a world that is getting faster by the second, our God remains the same.  I heard a pastor call it the "Microwave Era". In a moments time "DING!" and what we want is ready. But whats interesting is that when you walk with the Lord you need to master the art of delayed gradification. Many of the great stories in the Bible show people who had to wait on God and His timing but He always did what he promised perfectly. We may think He is taking His time, but He is never late.
Being that I'm inside the constantly changing music industry, waiting on the Lord is particularly hard a lot of times. We see God doing things in other people's lives and we always wanna know if we are next and when our time will come. Those types of questions give the enemy ( the devil ) space where he can try to deceive us and diminish our trust in God.
When I started GodChaserz Entertainment I just knew it was going to be a awesome ministry. God gave me the name, the logo and a couple of guys so we could build something. But in 2005 I had to put everything on pause through the leading of the Lord. During that time I thought it was all finished. Just as I was just chalking it up as just another good idea, the Lord took it off the shelf and started it up again. But one thing that kept me was my promise to God to be fully committed to whatever he told me to do. That was one of the keys to keep my mind right and in expectancy so depression or anything else couldn't creep in.
For a lot of gospel artist, preachers, ministers, ministries etc. it's a bit challenging to operate in ministry having great vision. Knowing that God is in it while you're not seeing huge results right away. I know I struggled with that but then I had to see the little victories here and testimonies there. We must understand that Jesus was not a overnight success. The Bible said he grew in stature from a young age. He had to be taught as a natural man. Then he had to build up his ministry. He preached for a while even before the disciples were added. But remember, Jesus knew the end from the begining and even Jesus had to go through a process.
Sometimes we want to get to the top before we are able to handle it.  When we feel like things aren't happening fast enough it may be God bringing us to maturity in areas of our life. I know I couldn't run GodChaserz Entertainment when I was only 19. I didn't understand people or ministry the way I do now. I didn't know the people I know and honestly I wasn't living for Jesus hardcore like I am now. So I had to come to the understanding that Jesus knows what He is doing and as I get closer to Him and He keeps peeling off layers of me, I'm closer to the big prize that is awaiting me later on.
Another step that helps me to stay patient is always being thankful of where I am. The scriptures tell that a dream deferred makes the heart sick. Not counting your blessings ( like the old saints would say ) can make that happen. I recall we put out our first album "For The Yard" and it was mainly being distributed in the prison systems. A lot of people on the outside didn't hear it. I didn't know if folks liked it or thought it was wack. There I was with this album and a million and one thoughts, doubts, and uncertainties in my mind. Then I got one report about how an inmate heard another inmate talk about this gospel rap album that ministered to him. When I heard that it increased my faith and God knew I really needed a victory in Him that day. Funny thing is, next time I had to preach I told the men I didn't know if they heard the album but I hoped they got a chance to. I proceeded to pull out just the album cover (you can't take just anything in the prison lol) and to my surprise about 300 men got up and cheered because they had been listening to the project.  I had to count that as a victory.
Delayed gratification is a part of every great success story. While you and I wait on the Lord just know He is able. Whatever you are putting your hands to do in His name be patient with it. Ecclesiaties 3 says there is a season for everything. If your season has not come yet, fear not and trust God only. Your season is coming, my season is coming, our season is coming. The Bible also says in ALL things give thanks. So rejoice in your wait! Again I say Rejoice!
